Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern use of Montague County Busted Mugshots, a privately operated reference site. They describe limits on the information and links provided here. By using the site, a visitor accepts these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This is a private site and is not affiliated with the Montague County Sheriff, any jail, police department, court, corrections agency, or other government body. It is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

Purpose of the Site

The site provides general reference information and links to records resources for Montague County, Texas. It may point to the Sheriff’s custody route, records-request instructions, city police records contacts, court searches, TDCJ, local news, and other sources. It does not operate an official government database, hold booking records, or make decisions for a public office.

Permitted Use

A visitor may use the site for lawful personal reference and to locate the proper record owner. Users may not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, transmit harmful code, scrape material in violation of law, impersonate another person, or use content in a way that violates another person’s rights. The site may restrict or revoke access when misuse, security concerns, or a legal requirement makes that appropriate.

Fair Credit Reporting Act Limits

The site is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its content and linked information may not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose covered by the FCRA. A visitor must obtain information from the proper official source and comply with all applicable law before acting on any record.

Information and Outside Links

Links may lead to government offices, courts, publishers, search partners, or other third parties. Those sites operate independently, and their availability, content, policies, results, and security are not controlled or endorsed here. A linked official record can change, and a secondary publisher can be incomplete or out of date. The Texas Public Information Act is found in Texas Government Code Chapter 552, but each agency applies the law and its own record procedures.

No Warranties

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that information is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, suitable for a particular purpose, or free from errors. Verify a custody entry, booking record, court disposition, agency contact, fee, or policy with the originating office.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its owners, contributors, and service providers are not liable for losses arising from use of, inability to use, reliance on, or access to the site or an outside link. This includes indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Some jurisdictions limit exclusions, so a particular limitation may not apply where prohibited.

Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the site and its owners, contributors, and service providers from claims, damages, costs, and reasonable fees resulting from the visitor’s misuse of the site, violation of these terms, or violation of law or another person’s rights.

Intellectual Property

Unless a third party is identified as the owner, the site’s original text, graphics, logo treatment, layout, and code are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. They may not be copied, distributed, modified, or used commercially without written permission. Third-party names, pages, and marks remain the property of their respective owners.

Changes and Access

These terms, the site, and available features may change at any time. The site may suspend, modify, or discontinue access without prior notice where permitted. The current posted version controls from its publication date.

Texas Law and Severability

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and disputes must be brought in courts within Texas unless applicable law requires another forum. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

Questions About These Terms

Questions about these terms may be directed through the information on the Contact Us page. Questions about a county record, custody, a court case, or an official fee must go to the originating agency or court.
