Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes information associated with use of Montague County Busted Mugshots, a private reference site. It applies to data supplied through a message, entered into a third-party search box, or collected automatically while the site is used. It does not govern the official Sheriff, court, city, state, or third-party pages reached through links.

Information Provided Directly

A message sent through a contact channel may include a name, email address, and the content of the message. A person should not send unneeded sensitive information. Search terms entered in a search widget are passed to that widget’s third-party provider so it can return its own results. The site does not operate the records systems maintained by the Montague County Sheriff, the District Clerk, Bowie, Nocona, TDCJ, or other public agencies.

Automatic Technical Information

Services supporting the site may collect standard technical data such as an IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, and timestamps. Cookies and similar technologies may be used to remember settings, measure traffic, provide advertising, prevent misuse, or support search partners. Browser controls can limit cookies, although some features may then work differently.

How Information Is Used

Information may be used to operate and secure the site, respond to a message, understand traffic, improve page performance, prevent fraud or misuse, and measure the performance of advertising or referral links. Search providers use submitted queries under their own terms and notices. The site does not sell official county records or create a public booking-photo gallery.

External Websites and Search Tools

Links lead to offices and services with independent practices. Their sites may collect information under their own policies. For example, a request made on a Sheriff public-information form goes to the government office, and a court search is governed by its own portal. Texas public records are governed by applicable law, including the Texas Public Information Act, not by this Privacy Notice.

Who May Receive Information

Information may be processed by service providers that host the site, provide analytics, deliver advertisements, operate search functions, or process messages. Information can also be disclosed when required by a valid legal order or when necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service. Partners receive only the information needed for their service and are governed by their own terms where applicable.

Security and Retention

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or stored data can be guaranteed completely secure. Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described, to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. A person should use the official records office when submitting a government record request.

Users Under 18

The site is not directed to children under 18. It does not knowingly seek personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information through the site may request deletion where applicable.

Privacy Choices and Requests

A person may use browser settings to manage cookies and may ask about personal information submitted directly through a contact message. Requests should identify the information at issue and the contact method used. The site may need to verify a requester’s identity before responding. Government record corrections, expunction issues, and court-file requests must be directed to the originating agency or court.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised as the site, partners, or legal requirements change. The version posted here applies from the time it is published. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated notice to the extent permitted by law.
