This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release someone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency or court that holds the record directly.
Montague County Official Record Contacts
The Sheriff is the local starting point for current county custody, an existing booking record, and a booking-photograph request. The research found two official administration numbers. Use the jail and non-emergency line for current jail questions, and retain the records line for written-request questions.

Choose the Office That Holds the Record
Custody, booking, incident, court, and state-prison records are held in different systems. The following routes keep the request with the office that can answer it.
- Current county custody or a booking record: start with the Sheriff’s custody route or the written records contact above.
- Bowie incident or arrest report: Bowie Police Records, 302 Lindsey Street, Bowie, TX 76230, 940-872-2251.
- Nocona incident report or municipal records: Nocona Police, 101 Cooke Street, 940-825-3281, or Nocona City Hall, 102 Clay Street, 940-825-3282.
- District-court disposition: Montague County District Clerk, 101 E Franklin Street, Montague, TX 76251, 940-894-2571, mcdc@co.montague.tx.us.
- Sentenced state custody: use the TDCJ inmate locator and TDCJ’s public-information route.
- Federal or immigration custody: use the official BOP locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator, not the county jail route.
The District Clerk’s public hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., with lunch from noon to 1:00 p.m. The office has a separate mailing address, P.O. Box 155, Montague, TX 76251. A court record is later case information, not a substitute for a current custody confirmation.
